Hot.  Blazing hot.  It’s hard to think about how hot it was now that we are getting into our colder season…but this wedding took place on one of my hottest wedding weekends of the year. It just goes to show, that even if you plan a lovely fall wedding…the weather is never predictable.  Regardless, Sarah and Erik had a gorgeous day.  It took place downtown St. Paul, which is one of my personal favorites, having been married down there myself.

Sarah and Erik have been together for a loooong time…and yet, they still act like they are in love…without me having to even tell them to do so.  I love it when I get to see a couple being truly best friends and soulmates.  And this is how I’d describe them.  During their reception, their best man gave one of the best speeches I’ve heard in years.  It was hilarious.  I always say that you can tell a lot about a couple by the friends that they have surrounding them.  And, Sarah and Erik have some awesome friends.

Sarah…you are so lovely…
And we got to end the day my favorite way…with some beautiful night shots…

Mexico.  It all began when they decided to get married in Mexico…and they asked if I’d go to photograph it…a couple of years later, a few babies born (on my end), and one on the way (on their end)…and here we are…the next stage of life.  I’m so thankful to have Mary as a friend and couldn’t be more excited to watch the two of them grow into a little family of three.  They are going to be such amazing parents…

I like to make her laugh.  I try to do this often.
Mary, you are just beautiful.  Motherhood becomes you.

Mary Royer - LOVE. Thank you, my wonderful friend.

Spontaneous.  I told Dan to be a little spontaneous during their engagement session.  It’s hard to get into that vibe, however, until you really let go, be yourself, and just trust that no matter what, I’m not going to make you look like a nerd.  About half way through the session…when he decided to let go, and surprised me by kissing Michelle on the cheek without my direction…from that point on, I knew I was a match for this pair…  Dan and Michelle are going to be the most insanely photogenic bridal couple…and some day, they are going to have the most adorable children…just look at them.

BAT.  Big Awesome Tim. This is a real acronym in the world of our friends.  And it is used often. He is a man of many nicknames and a boy at heart.  He is an old friend of mine from college, an old roommate of my brother’s, and an old study buddy for me when we took the bar, and I was honored when he and Lindsey asked me to photograph their day.  It was beautiful.  This was my first time out to Camrose Hill…and I was in love with it.  The beautiful flowers, ceremony garden and reception tent had me at first glance.  The day had a bit of a vintage feel to it…and Lindsey’s dress was stunning.

The flowers were simply breathtaking.
Lindsey, you made a gorgeous bride.
The lace on her veil came from her mother’s wedding…
I always say…the family that sings together, stays together…
Lindsey and Tim…may your relationship always be Big. and Awesome.

Heart breakers.  These brothers are going to be a pair of heart breakers. They already know how to weasel their way into your heart and twist it around a bit.  And, it’s a good thing they are so photogenic, because their momma is one amazing photographer, and one of my best friends.  I love her and her family and am thankful that God made our paths cross.

And yes…brothers really do gotta hug…

Both of these little guys are mommas boys…how can you not love it??
