Human.  Yes, it’s something we have in common.  The three of us have all worked in some form of human…human resources that is.  Back in the day…before law school…I was a recruiter.  I started out in a human resources department, and then switched over to a recruiting agency.  It was another world.  And it seems eons away from where I am now.  But, I believe it is a huge factor into my current success. When I look back at my former life, I am thankful for that experience…one thing it taught me was how to interact with all different types of people, crazy scenarios, and how to just flow with it.

This same experience that makes me so flexible is also the same thing that make Jason and Jessica who they are.  They are easy going.  They are great conversationalists.  And, they are also a little bit crazy…in love.

Without further ado…I give you a glimpse into who they are…

I’m not sure what he whispered…but it was just right…
I often joke about my engagement sessions being part nature tour…but, this takes that element to a whole new level…how can you resist something so tiny…even if it is a toad??

Lawyers.  They’re both lawyers.  But…that’s probably not why they love each other.  Take it from someone who knows.  Being a dual attorney couple makes for some very interesting arguments.  It might start out as a simple discussion…but it often quickly escalates into organized points, exhibits, rebuttals, and if it’s really bad, a well written brief on why one’s point is far superior to that of their opposing party. And very rarely is there a judge to sustain a party who is out of order.  But…what can I say…I must secretly love it, right?

Anyway – back to Liz and TJ…this couple is utterly in love.  Snuggling, cuddling, kissing, and hugging…it was so apparent.  Their wedding is only a few short weeks away in her home town…and I can’t wait for it.  With her long dark hair and her ivory skin…she is going to be one stunning bride.

Smirk.  He has a little smirk he does when she says something clever.  He tries to hide how amused he is…but he can’t hide it for very long… she’s amazing and full of cuteness and wiggles her way into that serious facade.  No matter how hard he tried to stay serious…it didn’t last.  By the end of the session he was offering ideas on photos and was even giggling a little…and I instantly saw why the two of them worked together.

Marcus and Alicia are getting married in her home town in North Carolina, and it’s going to be stunning.  After they were engaged, I was one of the first calls she made, and I LOVE that!  When a bride has seen my work, and plans for me to be a part of her future, even before she’s engaged…there’s no greater compliment.

Prepare yourself…this couple is insanely photogenic…

Alicia…you are so lovely…
One of my favorite engagement photos of all time…
This bling…I could see Marcus sweating while I took off to photograph this little number…but, I reluctantly brought it back…
If only you could hear her sweet southern giggle…
This next little series was ALL Marcus…and it produced a real smile…I love it.

Perfection.  Their day was full of absolute perfection.  From their scenic first look (which happened to take place at Natalie’s parents’ home) to the timing of the rain…nothing could have made this day better.  Natalie and Mark are the definition of true love.  When they hug, it is with true sincerity.  I loved photographing this adorable couple…talk about photogenic!

One of the things that made their day extra special was the venue they picked…A’BULAE.  It is brand new this season, and they had one of the very first weddings there!  It was awesome.

Natalie…you are one gorgeous bride…
ok…and your little dog too…
A little skip through the park…if you can believe it…most of the people in this scene are Mark’s siblings!!! He is one of 8!

A few moments alone before heading inside…
His and Hers cookies…
It’s those funny moments that you’ll remember when the day is over…but it helps to have a picture to remember it clearly…
A’BULAE has a fabulous rooftop patio…which was the perfect spot to end the night…
Mark and Natalie…the two of you could not be any sweeter…may your life be full of endless joy and laughter.
